Use it on both my machines p4 2.8 and hp lap[top and love it.Update to 9.10 went ok to.
Sad part is that my machines run smooth and fast , but sl do things in there code that make it so slow for me
For the kde gnome fight lol that is the gui think the underlaying libaries are much the same in speed ,
Nice idea for the christmas time ,name a windows computer for what it is a WC

Okay, I have not examined the code between the two, but I do have experience writing Gtkmm applications. While I do agree that QT4 seems a far superior development platform to Gtkmm, GNOME is lighter weight than KDE4. KDE seems to add a huge amount of overhead to every application making them take longer. For example. Firefox is slower to respond and takes longer to load!

Anyway I don’t have to develop GNOME, just enjoy it. The whole feel of the system is slimmer, and it “just works.” So I’ll stick with it for a while. Though I like the concept behind KDE, they need to debloat-ify it big time.

Dooglio, you’re a programmer. Have a look at the C++ code of KDE and at the C code of GNOME. I’m sure you’ll switch back to KDE really soon .

Yes I agree–I think separating the google code out is a good idea. Let me look into that. Let’s hook up in-world and we can talk more.

Hi Dooglio,

I wanted to let you know that I wrote the skeleton of a text-only robot based on LLChatLib.

It was very easy to write, and the resulting code is very clean. As one could expect, it is much simpler than the GUI version .

A suggestion: I think that the google translator module should be made optional and go to a separate library, for the people like me who don’t need it.

There’s still a long road ahead before I can write my cross-grid IM bridge. First, I have not tried the group IMs yet. Second; I have not tried to log into something else as second life. Third, there’s a lot of customization and polishing needed before my code can be published for general use (for example, I don’t use CMake yet).

I can show you the source code whenever you want, if it interests you.
